Mrs. Georgiana Foster McLain, 67 years old, wife of Frank W. McClain, a native of Byron wand resident of Rockford for many years, died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter in Allentown, Pa.

Mrs. McLain was born Feb. 28, 1861, at Byron, Ill. When less than two years old her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. N.F. Foster, moved to Elton, Ill.

Mrs. McLain was more than an ordinary student, and after completing her grade and high school studies she went to Carbondale Normal university, from which she was graduated. She taught school with exceptional success for a number of years in Illinois and Iowa.

On June 23, 1897, she was married to Frank W. McLain, who survives her with two sons, Seth McLain, of Rockford, and Benjamin I. McLain, of Platteville, Wis., and a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Nikolas, of Allentown, Pa. She also leaves three grandchildren, Merilyn, Eugene, and Patricia McLain, a brother, Roscoe L. Foster, and four sisters, Miss Flora L. Foster, Mrs. James A. Smith, and Mrs. Thomas R. Puddicombe, all of Rockford, and Mrs. Charles A. Marcy, of St. Petersburg. Fla.

Until illness prevented her, Mrs. McLain was an earnest temperance worker. She was affiliated with the local W.C.T.U. and was for many years treasurer of the country organization. She was a devoted wife and mother and helpful and sympathetic.

Funeral services will be held at the home of her brother in law, James A. Smith, 434 Oakley ave., Rockford, Friday afternoon at an hour to be announced later. Interment will be in Hulse cemetery, four miles north of Pecatonica.
