Early Life: Christopher "Chris" was born April 16, 1982, to loving parents, Rick and Nancy LoChiano Allman, their fifth child. He spent his grade school years in Orem, Utah, before moving to Elk Ridge, Utah, graduating from Payson High School in 2000.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: Chris spent years in Olympia, Washington, graduating in 2010 with a BA from Evergreen State College. Later, he moved to Chicago, Illinois, graduating in 2013 with a Master of Fine Arts in ceramics from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Chris was a brilliant and visionary artist who worked in sculpture, performance, painting and music. He had many exhibitions across the country. His work was featured widely in the media including MTV, Vice Magazine and more. Chris had an amazing mind, he was insatiably curious, constantly learning and seeking to understand anything and everything he could. His ability to consume huge amounts of information, remember it, and synthesize it into beautiful and poetic ideas, was astonishing. He had thousands and thousands of ideas, stacks and stacks of sketchbooks filled with sketches, plans, notes and ideas spanning any number of topics from genetics to psychology to architecture to tea. There were very few topics he wasn't extremely well-versed on. He inspired those around him with his incredible sense of humor, kindness, curiosity and willingness to listen and learn without judgment. Spending time with Chris almost always led to an adventure. He was open and gregarious, friendly with everyone and always sincere. This would lead him to meet fascinating people and end up in the craziest places. Hanging out with Chris often led to the most bizarre, funny and memorable experiences. Chris will be missed by all who knew or knew of him. Christopher Karl Allman passed away June 16, 2018, in his home in Chicago, Illinois, after a difficult battle with depression. He was 36.
Survived By: His parents; grandfather, Rocky LoChiano; his siblings: Jennifer (Mark) Hedrick, Jodi (Aaron) Thornton, Amy (Adam) Hobson and Ricky (Melissa) Allman; as well as 18 nieces and nephews.
