Mary McDonough was the daughter of Walter and Anna Maria Aaron. She moved to NY City after graduating from high school and it was there that she met her future husband at who was at the United States Military Academy at West Point. They were married there in 1945 and over the next 33 years she and her family moved around the country as well as overseas as her husband pursued his military career. Later in life, they moved to Virginia where Mrs. McDonough volunteered at INOVA Loudoun Hospital. Her husband, Major General Joseph C. McDonough died in 2005. Mary was survived by three sons and two grandchildren.
