Duane Henry Johansen Mr. Johannsen was born Sept. 24, 1918, in Pipestone Minn. He moved with his family to a farm near Wheaton, Minn. In 1941 he married Florence Ahlsten in Wheaton. They moved to Santa Monica, Calif., where he worked in the Lockheed aircraft and shipyard factory until 1942. He farmed until 1963, then moved to the Detroit Lakes area where he raised livestock until 1967. He started Johannsen Implement in 1967 and operated it with his son until he entered St. Mary's Nursing Home in 2002.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Richard, Jerry, both Detroit Lakes, Donald (Sharon), Walker, Minn.; two daughters, Bonita (Dennis) Krenz, Wheaton, LaVonne Carpenter, Detroit Lakes; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one stepgrandchild.
Visitation: Two hours before the funeral in the church.
Funeral: Friday at 2 in Zion Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes.
Burial: Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes.
