She was born in Effingham County and lived in Pembroke many years. She was a beautician and a seamstress. She was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: two daughters, Levette L. Staley and Alicia R. Nesbitt, both of Pembroke; two sons, Terry K. Lanier and Kevin Lanier, both of Pembroke; a sister, Bessie Jones of Lakewood, N.J.; nine grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Thursday at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Pembroke, burial in Old Salem Cemetery in Groveland.
