Billy Ray Hinkle, 48, of Dayton, died Monday, October 29th, 2007 at University of VA Medical Center, in Charlottesville, VA. Billy was born in Baltimore, MD on March 19, 1959, and was a son of Jason Triplett and Phyllis Ann (Vandevander) Hinkle of Harrisonburg.. He worked as a Recap Technician at Big L. Tire in Harrisonburg, VA., for 18 Years. He was a member of Clover Hill United Methodist Church in Dayton and attended the New Covenant Church in Elkton, VA He was united in marriage July 9, 1994 to Lori Ann (Thompson) Hinkle of Dayton who survives In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by four sisters, Frances (Roxie) Salmons and husband Golden of Bridgewater, VA., Julie (Boo) Caracofe and husband Johnny of Broadway., Vickie Marshall and husband John of Staunton, VA., Tabitha Tingler and husband Willie of Harrisonburg, VA.; one brother, Tony Joe Hinkle and wife Beverly Kay of Broadway, VA; mother-in-law Fannie Thompson of Elkton, father-in-law and wife, Denton and June Thompson of Waynesboro, sister-in-law and husband, Wanda and Chad Morris of Churchville, brother-in-law Denton (Denny) Thompson of Elkton; Big Brothers and Big Sister, James (Jimmy) Dickson, William (Bill) and Patricia (Pat) Shrunk. He had lived with a special cousin and her husband Loretta and Garland Mitchell of Briery Branch, in his teenage years. Five nieces, six nephews, two great nieces and four great nephews also survive. He was a mentor to a number of children. A funeral service will be conducted at Clover Hill United Methodist Church, Dayton, VA, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 3rd ,2007 with the Revs. George Yoder, Don Kuhns, Isaac Harper, and Don Rose officiating. Burial will follow Clover Hill Cemetery Dayton, VA. The family will receive friends 6-9 PM, Friday November 2, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service Chapel in Bridgewater.
