Diane Louise Gentry 1960 - 2009. Diane is survived by her husband, Steve Gentry; daughter, Aubri Ellsworth; son, Cody Gentry; her parents, Forrest and Shirley Rieben of San Jose; sister and brother-in-law, Leslie and Joe Pompa of Redlands; brother, Mark Reiben of Honolulu and nieces, Caty and Caroline of Redlands. Diane was born in Polson, Montana on July 7th, 1960 to her caring parents, Shirley and Gene Rieben. She passed from us on August 7th, 2009 after an intense and courageous battle with cancer. There is not a single, all-encompassing word to describe how truly incredible a woman she was to all of us. Diane's passion for life excelled beyond the average and began in the earliest years of her life. She was well suited for nearly every endeavor she attempted, taking on such activities as gymnastics, every kind of water-sport, track, cycling, skiing, a trek across the Continental Divide, and significant achievements in competitive high school tennis. Above all when acknowledging her interests was the incomparable passion and respect she held for horses - a passion that would continue throughout her lifetime. After graduating from Flathead High School in Kalispell, Montana in 1978, Diane attended the University of Montana, Missoula, earning her Associate's Degree in accounting. She then moved to California where she met her first husband, Phillip Ellsworth, and was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Aubri. Years later she met the love of her life, her devoted husband, Steve Gentry. In 1992, their family was complete with the birth of their dear son, Cody. She worked in a variety of jobs including a thirteen-year position at Lucky's Grocery Store. She later attended the Academy to become a Correctional Officer and was employed at the Tehachapi State Prison for fifteen years. Diane's devotion to her family encircled her every activity and she willingly sacrificed what was necessary for them to ensure that the love between the four was truly steadfast. With her family, she enjoyed to the fullest the many joys of camping, traveling, fishing, and especially cooking - cooking being one of her most celebrated achievements. The legacy and love of being a profoundly loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, and mother will live on with all of those so dear to her as it was, as it is, and as it will always be, forever. The family sends a special thank you to Dr. Del Toro and his staff, the CBCC staff, and Mercy Hospital for the compassion they showed Diane.
