2dLT Frederic Chesebrough was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Westcote Chesebrough of Seekonk, Massachusetts.

Deployed to Vietnam he served with A Battery, 2d Battalion, 4ht Artillery, 9th Infantry Division USARV.

On March 16, 2dLt Chesebrough was attached as artillery Forward Observer to the 3d Battalion, 50th Army of Vietnam when they came under an enemy mortar attack south-southeast of Bien Luc where he was killed as a result of multiple fragmentation wounds by the hostile fire.
