St. Clair--Donn M. Bacon, 57, 201 North Riverside Avenue, died May 22 in Port Huron, apparently of a heart attack.
He was born Feb. 14, 1921 in St. Cliar, and he was a lifelong area resident.
He attended St. Clair public schools and Port Huron Junior College. He graduated from Olivert College, where he was class captain of the Phi Alphi Pi fraternity.
Mr. Bacon was the owner and operator of coin-operated laundries in St. Clair and Marysville. He was a former acting postmaster of St. Clair.
Among his civic activities, he was a past chairman of the St. Clair County Library Board, a past president of the the St. Clair Rotary Club and of St. Clair Recreation Inc., a pst member of the former St. Clair School Board, and a former member of the St. Clair Harbor Commission. He was also active in the March of Dimes and Boy Scouts and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Mr. Bacon was an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by three sons, Dorian L. and Donn C. Bacon, both of St. Clair, and D. Kent Bacon of Marysville, and two grandchildren.
Services were conducted May 24 in St. Paul's churuch, with Rev. Franklin Bennett, rector, officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery. Arrangements were made by L. C. Freiderichs and Son Funeral Home.
