EDDYVILLE - Michaella Kymberlea Grounds, 23, passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2007, as a result of an automobile accident.

She was born Oct. 26, 1983, in Harrisburg to Michael and Kim (Baer) Grounds.

She was a member of Harrisburg First Baptist Church, Model Illinois Government, Theta Sigma Phi, SIC Student Trustee and a former member of the Harrisburg High School Band. She enjoyed spending time with her fiancé and daughter, fishing, hunting, softball, cars and music. She was a political science major specializing in pre-law at John A. Logan College, preparing to be a law student at SIUC. As a staunch Republican, she thoroughly enjoyed politics.

Michaella is survived by her daughter, Addyson Lyne Cockrum of Eddyville; parents, Michael and Kim Grounds of Eddyville; sister, Tristyn Grounds of Eddyville and significant other, Phil Givens of Ridgway; her fiancé, Andrew Erbes of Murphysboro; Andrew's parents, John and Julie (Tindall) Erbes of Murphysboro; Andrew's brother, Aaron Erbes of Murphysboro; a brother, Brian Jump of Owensboro, Ky.; a sister, Dustan Jump of Richland, Ind.; two nieces, Dezerae Jump and Keylee Jump of Richland, Ind.; maternal grandmother, Barbara McGhee of Harrisburg; great-aunt, Shelby Hooten of Harrisburg; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Loretta F. (Grounds) Leslie and William I. Grounds.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, in Harrisburg First Baptist Church, with Pastor Jack Lucas and the Rev. David Howard officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
