Shannon Ross Abell, 33, former New Albany resident

Funeral services for Shannon Ross Abell, 33, formerly of New Albany, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at the First Baptist Church of Elizabeth, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth. He died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, in Putnamville.

He was a native of New Albany and former employee of Jeffboat in Jeffersonville.

Survivors include three daughters, Chelsea Abell and Brittany and Bethaney Abell, New Albany; his mother, Valarie Proffitt and husband, Ronald, New Albany; father, Gilbert Abell, Paoli; sisters, Sarah Abell, Floyds Knobs and Hollie Abell, New Albany; grandmother, Mary Nichols, Elizabeth; and several aunts, uncles and nephews.

Visitation at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, April 20 and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
