WEAVERVILLE– Betty Adams Gaddy, of Weaverville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 11, 2018.
Mrs. Gaddy was born August 12, 1935 in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She retired in 1997 after 20 years with AB Emblem. Betty attended Cole’s Cove Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed singing and had one of the purest alto voices you will ever hear. Betty sang with the group “Generations” for many years. She was the daughter of the late Gay and Alda Corn Adams; and the wife of Daniel Gaddy who died in 1994. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Wayne Carroll in 2018; and her brothers, Doug and Arthur Adams.
Surviving are her daughters; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews; and her two very best friends, Ardath Peeke-Rice and Shirley Robinson.
Her funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Rev. Steve Penland will officiate. Burial will be in Clark’s Chapel Cemetery, Weaverville. (Edited by Howell.)
