George Benjamin Bass, 66, of Knoxville, formerly of Crossville, peacefully went home Dec. 22, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances Monroe Bass and George Neal Bass Jr. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Julie Bass of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Lewis Wheeler of Cookeville; and son and daughter-in-law Johnny and Stacey Bass of Crossville. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Lynn Carson of Crossville, and five grandchildren, Savana, Nic, Jake, Lilly and Zackery.

Mr Bass was born in Memphis, Tn, Dec 23, 1947. He graduated from Hillsboro High School in Nashville and attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where he played football under Coach Doug dickey. He was a long-time member of Crossville First United Methodist Church and was a founding partner of the Plateau Group. He was also instrumental in organizing the soprts booster clubs for Cumberland County High School Jets. He was a bloved father and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
