Nov. 14, 1931—Dec. 30, 2014 Robert Lloyd Axline, 83, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 30, 2014, at Cumberland House in Crossville. He was born Nov. 14, 1931, in Detroit, MI, the son of the late Verne E. Axline and Helen E. (Clark) Axline. On Jan. 31, 1971, he retired as a captain with military honors from the United States Marine Corps after 20 years of service. He was of the Methodist faith. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lilah (Stanton) Axline of Crossville; daughter, Susan Annette Monick of Orlando, FL; and brother, Leroy Axline of North Webster, IN. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Brian Axline; father, Verne E. Axline; and mother, Helen E. (Clark) Axline. He was also preceded in death by three brothers. Memorial services were held at Woodlawn United Methodist Church Jan. 2, with Bro. Marvin Orewiler and Bro. Gary Lansford officiating. Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
