Services were held Saturday, June 22, 1996 at the Corbin Chapel in Tishomingo. Mildred died June 18, 1996, in Texhoma Medical Center after a long illness. The Rev. Kenneth McCarthick officiated.

The daughter of Butler Greely and Minnie Alice (Stephens) Nash, she was born Nov. 22, 1926, in Tishomingo.

A lifelong resident of Johnston County, she attended school at Nida and Milburn. She married Robert LaVey Gibson on Feb. 20, 1943, in Tishomingo. She was a member of the Bullard Chapel Baptist Church in Tishomingo. She was a house wife.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert Gibson in 1994; four brothers, Charlie, Edgel, Johnny and Alford Nash; one sister, Esther Faye Nash and five grandchildren.

Survivors include four sons, Johnny Lee and Ronnie Edward Gibson of Tishomingo, Phillip Ray Gibson of Durant, and Eddie Joe Gibson of Milburn; four daughters Betty Ann Harrell of Tishomingo, Edna Marie Leonard of Milburn, Reta Faye Harwell of Mannsville, and Brenda Sue Russell of Fillmore; two half-brothers, J.C. Brown and Willie Joe Brown; two half-sisters, Pauline Edel and Thelma Fay Morgan; 30 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

Cubby Russell, Cecil Russell, Charles Harwell, Leonard Harrell, Kenneth Leonard and Bobby Nash served as pallbearers.

Interment was at Condon Grove Cemetery, Milburn under the direction of Corbin Funeral Home, Tishomingo.
