Carl F. Hoffman, 63, of Litchfield suffered a fatal heart attack Wednesday morning while he and his son were cleaning a gas well on a Litchfield township farm. Mr. Hoffman, a native of Wellington, had lived in Litchfield since the age of one year and was a well driller all his life. He was a vetran of World War I, serving with the 32nd Infantry in France and Germany. He was a member of the Litchfield American Legion post and Litchfield grange. His survivors include a wife, Esther; a daughter, Mrs. Manuel Miller of Litchfield; a son, Don of Litchfield; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. David Woodings of Amherst, and three brothers, Ralph of Rockyh River, Walter of Elyria and paul of Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at the Litchfield Congregational church Friday at 1:30 p.m. in charge of Rev. John MacDuffie. Graveside services at the Litchfield cemetery will be conducted by the Litchfield American Legion. Friends may call Thursday evening at the Parker Funeral Home in lodi, and at the church an hour before the service.
