Dwight Lee Almond, 62, of Albemarle, NC, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 in his home.

Dwight was born August 23, 1955 in Stanly County, NC and was the son of the late Walter Columbus Almond and Annie Belle Furr Almond. He was employed with Superior Mechanical Services of Charlotte. He truly loved his family, loved to go deep sea fishing, loved Nascar Racing and loved Tarheel Basketball.
Mr. Almond is survived by his wife, Kelly Cochran Almond of the home. Other survivors include a son Christopher D. Almond (Lindsey) of Fayetteville, NC, two daughters Jamie Nichole Stirewalt (Eric) and Jessica Erin Black both of Concord, NC, a brother, Steve Allen Almond (Irma) of Albemarle, NC, sister Karen Almond McLendon (Sidney) of Albemarle, NC, six grandchildren, Brennan Almond, Max Almond, Jaden Havens, Gage Simpson, Madison Stirewalt and Shelby June Stirewalt and a number of nieces and nephews.
