Private funeral services for Joseph Stuart Wiley, former St. Louisan and former Arkansas newspaper editor, were held today in Woods Memorial Chapel of Ladue Chapel, 9450 Clayton road, Ladue. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.


Mr. Wiley, 81 years old, died Monday of uremia at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Martinsburg, W. Va. Before his retirement he had been editor for more than 30 years of the Pine Bluff (Ark).) Commercial and later editor of the Daily Graphic of that city. He lived in St. Louis from 1955 to 1957.


Survivors include two daughters and two sons; Mrs. W.D. McDowell, 41 Godwin lane, Ladue, wife of the pastor of Ladue Chapel; Gene Wiley, 10321 North Sunswept drive, Creve Coeur; Mrs. R. U. Davison, Kansas City, Mo., and Professor H. N. Wiley of the University of Tampa, Fla. Two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Wiley and Mrs. Garland Farrior both of Santa Monica, Calif.
