Mrs. Pate -1974Mrs. Carlos Pate, 54 (1920) died at 9;20 a.m. Monday in a local hosptial after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Carroll & Lehr Memory Chapel with the Rev. Grover C. Bishop officating. and burial was in Cottonwood Cemetery. Born in Mankin near Trinidad, Mrs. Pate had lived in Athens for the past 33 years.She and Carlos Pate married in Tyler September27,1950.Survivors include her husband, one son, Jerry Cox of Kilgore, two step-daughters, Mrs. Shirley Moore of Santa Ana, Calif, and Mrs. Peggy Duckett of Fort Worth, two brothers, Jack Roberson of Athens and Leroy Roberson of Dallas, two sisters, Mrs. Maudie Rozelle of Athens and Mrs. Ruby Hulsey of Santa, Ana, Calif and four grandchildren.
