Mary Bryant Aldridge, 33, of Morganton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 8th, 2011. A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of Oakland and Esther Phillips Bryant of Morganton and wife of Mack Aldridge. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rexter and Zona Belle Bryant; maternal grandfather, Raleigh Phillips; uncle, Franklin Phillips; aunts: Hazel Phillips and Mary Ruth Bryant. Mary loved to play basketball and hunting with her brothers.
Surviving in addition to her parents and her husband are her daughters: Hannah and Haley Aldridge; brothers: Johnny D. Bryant and Joseph Bryant and wife, Leslie, of Burnsville; grandmother, Lida Phillips of Burnsville; special aunt, Edith Phillips of Burnsville; nieces: Alisa and Alexis. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 14th, 2011 in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Jeff Bryant and Rev. Danny Hughes will officiate. Burial will be in the Phillips Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 13th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Service and at other times will be at the home of her grandmother, Lida Phillips, on Bloody Fork.
