James Carl Carden, 83, of Seligman, Missouri died Monday, March 14, 2011 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born October 19, 1927 to George Washington Carden and Clara Frances (Clanton) Carden. He was a lifetime resident of the area, served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a Corporal, and was a mail carrier for the U. S. Postal Service in Seligman for many years. He was a member of Antioch Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clyde Carden; and one sister, Alice Jean Gundel.

Survivors include his wife, Viola Carden, of Seligman; one son, Jerry Carden, and wife, Jo Anna, of Seligman; two sisters, Margaret Bush, of Cave Springs and Lula Mae Coffee of Jane, Missouri; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Graveside service March 18 at Antioch Cemetery in Missouri.
