Harold M. Isbell, American writer, investment banker, arts patron, was instructor, University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana, 1963-1964; associate professor St. Mary's College, 1969-1972; assistant professor San Francisco College for Women, 1964-1969. Author and translator.

Descendant of Robert Isbell who came from Cornwall, England to Salem, Mass., c1634, and later to Nutfield, Mass., and died at New Haven, Connecticut in 1655.
