George was born in Norwalk, Ct., only child of Helen and George Gaffney. He underwent open heart surgery as an infant/child. He was raised in Norwalk, and attended Norwalk High School, graduating in either 1966 or 1967. He worked as an auto mechanic in a shop on Rte. 7. He was married to Donna Theresa Saumell for a brief time in 1968. There were no offspring. He later was married to ? another woman, and their marriage produced a son, Thor, according to George's cousin in Connecticut. That marriage was dissolved at an unknown time. Some years later, after the death of his father, and after 1978, he and his mother, Helen, moved to Lakeland, Florida, where later Helen passed away. Her death information is accessible in public records, but I have not yet discovered which mortuary handled her final arrangements nor whether or not she was cremated and/or buried. His father's death and burial information are accessible on Find a Grave for Norwalk, Ct.

George was found to be deceased in his residence at 105 Coleman St. in Lakeland, and David Russel Funeral Home managed final arrangements. Cremation was performed, and there was no service. George's cremains were transferred to his first wife in California, whose husband, Dave Golder, saw that George, a baptized Roman Catholic, had a Christian burial. Donna's brother, a former neighbor of George's in Norwalk, and now a priest, Reverend Amaro Saumell, prayed for George in a brief gravesite ceremony , and blessed the grave which is seen in the above photo.
