Howard Kenneth Spangler Sr 69, of Roanoke, born April 27, 1936, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 28, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Ethel Spangler and five brothers. Mr. Spangler served his country four years in the U. S. Navy, 15 years on the Roanoke City Police Department and retired from Service America Corp. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jeannine K. Spangler; daughter, Belinda Spangler Jones; daughter and son-in-law, Anna Jo Spangler Gill and Tim; son, Howard Kenneth Spangler, II; grandchildren, Genesis Maria Jones, Howard Kenneth Spangler, III, Brian Nathanal Spangler, Alexander Bryce Gill; one sister; and three brothers. A memorial service will be conducted March 4, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the West End Presbyterian Church with Pastor Tony Ward officiating.
