Lowell was united in marriage to the former Virginia Jackson on June 25, 1949, in Sycamore. They spent 57 happy years together.
Mr. Burnett was a member of the Hinckley First United Methodist Church in Hinckley and was a farmer throughout his life.Lowell was a member of the DeKalb County Farm Bureau, a member of the Batavia and DeKalb Moose lodges and the DeKalb Eagles Club.
He is survived by his wife, his sons, Gene (Pam) Burnett, and Jim (Christine) Burnett, his granddaughters, Brenna and Shannon Burnett, as well as his step-grandsons, Dr. Derek Wakeman and Dustin Wakeman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Emaline Burnett, and his sister, Beverly Reeves.
