Tom Fread Rountree
Tom Fread Rountree, 88, passed away Monday, March 17 2014. A visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at Moody Church of Christ, 1506 Ave D at Hwy 317, Moody.
He was born November 5, 1925 in Dawson, Texas. He served in the 390th Bomb Group of the Army Air Corp in WWII as a tail gunner in a B-17. He was a longtime resident of Big Spring, Texas where he worked for Texas Electric until retirement. He enjoyed farming and ranching in Big Spring, and enjoyed working in his pecan orchard. He moved to Eddy in 2004 and took great enjoyment from time spent with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clarice Rountree in 1990; a brother, Charles Rountree; and a grandson, Kyle Rountree.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Rountree of Eddy; two sons, Terry Rountree and his wife, Patti, of Carrollton, and Danny Rountree and his wife, Joanne, of Bastrop; a brother, Joe Rountree; two sisters, Frances Jane York and Nell Kupper; six grandchildren, Josh Rountree, Jeremy Rountree, Tim Rountree, Teri Leianne Ruland, Travis Rountree and Ty Ruland; and seven great-grandchildren, Beckett Rountree, Gibson Rountree, Sean Rountree, Avery Rountree, Jayden Ruland, Maddie Rountree, and Dakotah Ruland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Moody Church of Christ.
