Norma Jean Martin, 55, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. The Lawrence County native was born January 4, 1963, a daughter of the late Arthur Remy and Jessie King. She is survived by her husband, Rick Martin.
 
Mrs. Martin attended Coal Grove High School and was a homemaker. She loved to sew, quilt and working on their farm. She was an avid fan of NASCAR and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by:
a son: Aaron Justice
a grandson: Michael James Akers
three brothers: Garland Remy, Homer Remy, and Joe Remy
her grandmother: Mary Adams
mother-in-law: Gerry Martin
 
In addition to her husband, she is survived by:
four daughters: Tara (John) Hammonds of Ironton, Tracey (Brady) Brown of South Point, and Jessica Martin of Ironton
three sisters: Shirley King of South Point, OH, Mary (Tommy) Craig of South Solon, OH, and Pauline Corbin of Ironton
a brother: Ray (Ellen) Remy of Ironton
fourteen grandchildren
 
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio with the Rev. James Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens and visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 611 7th Ave. #101, Huntington, WV 25701.
