WEBSTER – Walter E. Ainsworth, Sr., 88, of 47 Morris St., died Friday, Jan. 6, in Hubbard Regional Hospital. His wife of 57 years, Eleanore C. (Hutchinson) Ainsworth, died in 1997.

He leaves 5 sons, Walter E. Ainsworth, Jr., of Wilkes-Barre, PA, Charles H. Ainsworth and his wife Brenda of Worcester, Paul W. Ainsworth and his wife Judy of Monson, Robert M. Ainsworth and his wife Nita of Boise, Idaho, and John H. Ainsworth of Webster; a sister, Evelyn Adams of Livingston, NJ; 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a great

grandson, Louis "Buddy" Gonyou of Worcester in 2002 and by his daughter, Eileen E. Hansen of Webster in 2003.

He was born and raised in Lawrence, the son of Harold and Mary (Doncaster) Ainsworth. He lived in Danielson, CT, for over 25 years before moving to Webster.

Mr. Ainsworth was a master mechanic at several textile mills, including Rogers Corp. of Rogers, CT, from which he retired in 1982.

He attended High Pointe Church in Thompson, CT, and was a life member of the Moriah Lodge of Masons #15 in Brooklyn, CT

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 11, in Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main St. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home.
