Vincent Catalanotto is the son of Joseph Catalanotto and Carmela Cuttonaro, and the husband of Jackie Tusa. He is the father of Ann Rita Catalanotto Henie and Diane Mary Catalanotto Wyle. As a child and young adult, Vincent worked for and managed the family business, The Catalanotto Grocery Store in New Orleans. He retired from The Times-Picayune Publishing Corporation, also located in New Orleans.

Vince was a fisherman's fisherman. He loved to fish. He did not care if he caught any fish as much as being on the water with a fishing pole in his hand. When he did catch a fish, you could see the excitement in his eyes, just like a child in a toy store. He could fish anywhere, anytime, from a bank, boat or dock, it did not matter. Vincent really appreciated the beauty of nature.
