He was born in Halifax the son of the late Guy and Goldie Wolford Bowman. He was a veteran of US Army.
He retired from Appleton Paper Co. in Camp Hill.
Owen was involved with the Powells Valley Fire Police and Halifax Twp. Police, a former constable and a member of the Halifax Legion and Zion Stone Church in Matamoras. He was an avid Phillies fan, enjoyed wildlife and nature.
Surviving are his wife Betty Travitz Bowman; a daughter Debra Straub (John) of Lykens, a son Robert of Halifax; two sisters Barbara Schorr of Camp Hill and Lucille Havens of Vero Beach, FL; a brother Randy Bowman of Perris, CA; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and a great great grandson. He was preceded in death by a son Dale Bowman; his siblings Carol Bowman, Rena Burke and Joan Enders.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am on Saturday, March 10th at Zion Stone U.M. Church in Matamoras. Memorial services will begin at 11 am with inurnment to follow in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to his church Million Dollar Road Halifax, PA 17032. Arrangements by Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home in Millersburg.
