Phoenix - Lawrence (Larry) Bruce Abrams, 84, whose kindness touched everybody he met, went to be with his Savior on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from the comfort of his home in Phoenix. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday, March 9 at North Phoenix Baptist Church chapel, 5757 N. Central Ave, Phoenix with Pastor Ralph Buzbee officiating. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 8 at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Road, Phoenix. Interment: Tuesday, March 13 at 12:30 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on Cavecreek Road. Larry was born September 22, 1933, in Marion, N.Y., to George Grant Abrams and Mabel Christine Kofahl Abrams and married Loretta Pierce Abrams on May 18, 1957, his wife of 61 years who was by his side at the end of this life. He was born again and baptized in 1972. He was an honorably discharged Army veteran who also went on to become a Freemason on November 9, 1976, belonging to AZ Masonic Lodge #2. His professional life was always that of a skilled tradesman and a technician. His talents and handiwork extended into woodcrafts and anything with a motor. But what he was best at was loving on total strangers anywhere he went, sharing the Lord and greeting parishioners at his church. Many people knew him by his red nose he often wore to bring warmth and cheer to children and to surprised adults. Larry outlived his parents; two brothers, Donald Abrams (Ursula), Elwood (Bud) Abrams (June) and two sisters and their husbands, Doris Coons (Wesley) and Beatrice Hermanent (Roger) and a granddaughter Karina Osterhoudt and is survived by his wife Loretta, daughter Laurie Jean Edwards (Mike), his son Lawrence Jeffrey Abrams (Pamela), his "second daughter" niece Donna Neal, sister-in-law June, in-laws Les Pierce, Esther Pierce; grandchildren, Benjamin Abrams (April), Austin Logue, William Abrams, Thomas Abrams, Joseph Abrams, 4 great-grandchildren; Kody Osterhoudt, Mackenzie Abrams, Faith Abrams, Hailey Abrams and more nieces and nephews that lay claim to him. He was loved by all.
