He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina, Columbia.
Before retirement, he worked for Blue Cross-Blue Shield of South Carolina for 26 years.
After retirement, he became the business owner of Medlin Electric Inc. of Port St. Lucie.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Palm City, where he was a high priest.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Terry Medlin of Port St. Lucie; sons, Wayne Medlin of Lugoff, SC and Michael Medlin of Port St. Lucie; daughters, Karen Lovette of Concord, NC, Saundra Gates of San Pedro, CA and Judith Miller-Haley of Delray Beach; sister, Anne Richardson of Ridgeway, SC; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Joseph Medlin.
SERVICES: Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. April 5 at Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City. A service will be at 2 p.m. April 6 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens of Columbia in South Carolina.
