Private Andrews served in two Pennsylvania Cavalry units: the 3rd PA Company C or G and the 5th PA Company K. He mustered out on August 7, 1865. He married Jennie (nee unknown) in 1880. On August 8, 1891, he was awarded a disability pension (App No. 1,045,246) (Cert. 927,076) (New Jersey). According to the 1900 census he was living at that time in the Port Norris, New Jersey, area and working as an Oyster fisherman. He passed away on December 26, 1908, at the age of 61, having become a widower a year and nine months earlier with the passing of Jennie on March 3, 1907.
