John Matthew "Matt" Ivey, age 28, of New Castle, DE passed away on January 16, 2018.

He graduated from Delcastle Technical High School class of 2008. In 2011, he earned a Journeyman License from NCC AED Plumbing Apprenticeship Program.

Matt worked as a Plumbing Technician for several plumbing companies in New Castle County throughout his apprenticeship. He was currently employed by Horizon Services as a Service Technician. During his leisure, he worked on his grandfather's farm.

He was a devoted Eagles fan, he enjoyed spending time with his dog Colt and loved nothing more than to be with his Grandfather "Farmer Phil" on their family farm.

Matthew is survived by his mother and step-father, Melissa (Matt) Garvey; his father and step-mother, John (Trish) Ivey; his two brothers, Ryan Ivey, Mark Garvey; his sisters, Morgan Ivey and Mackenzie Ivey; his maternal grandparents, Phillip (Diana) Proud; his paternal grandfather; Charles Ivey; his nephew, Cooper Ivey; three uncles, Wayne Proud, Chris Proud, and Bill Bates; his beloved dog, Colt.

The funeral service will be held at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark DE 19720. The burial service will be held at St. Georges Cemetery in Bear, DE.
