Bruce A. Brinker, 61 years, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully, early Tuesday morning, April 3, 2012 at his home surrounded by all that he loved.

Born in Allentown to Ruth A. (Remaley) Brinker of Allentown, and the late Earl F. Brinker, Jr. who died in 1991, he was the husband of Stephanie J. (Alesick) Brinker for almost 41 years. They married on April 17, 1971. He was a member of St. Lukes Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown.

A 1969 graduate of Louis E. Dieruff High School, Bruce was very active with Civil Air Patrol - the US Air Force Auxiliary - for over 35 years, currently holding the rank of Lt. Col. He also served as their Director of Cadet Programs for the Pennsylvania Wing, and was a Group and Hawk Mountain School Commander.

Very active in Whitehall, at the time of his death, he served on the Township Board of Commissioners, where he previously held the titles of President, Vice-President and Secretary since being first elected in 1992. Bruce was Past President of the Whitehall Democratic Club, was a reserve police officer, served as Captain of the Whitehall Fire Police, and was a fire fighter for Station 36.

A long time manager for Yoccos at most area locations, last working at Catasauqua Rd, he received the 1998 Julius F. Iacocca Employee Recognition Award. He retired in 2011 after 35 years of service.

Survivors: Beside his mother and wife; daughters, Stacey J. Callaby and husband Dayne, Keri L. Brinker; son, Scott J. Brinker and fiance Stacey Feger; grandchildren, Todd, Dayne III, Tristan, Franklin, Haley, Anthony, Jonathan, David, Hannah and Austin; great-granddaughter, Kristiana; three brothers, Brad and wife Mary, Brian and wife Susan, Bryce and wife Suha, and sister, Darlene Stettler; predeceased by granddaughter, Kristin.
