Born May 14, 1916 in Mullan, Idaho to August and Wilhelmina. Survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Lou Almquist; sons: Allan Almquist (Michelle), Den Almquist (Mary Gay), Don "Pudge" Almquist (Jacki), and Jamie Almquist (Brenda); daughters: Cindy Cushman (Ed), Debi Hager (Clark), Connie Wilson (Joe), Peggy Wells (Ken), June Kienholtz (Ernie), Joan Wight (Phil), Barb Thomas (Jim), and Sue Almquist; sister: Alma Martin; 33 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceeded in death by his mother and father, son Mike Almquist, brothers Art, Frank, Al , Elmer, and Walt, brother-in-law Ron Martin, nephew Glen Almquist, and grandsons Jay Thomas and Junior Wells. Historical mining hobbiest: Spragpole Museum and mining in Murray, Idaho area; loved singing & dancing,4-wheeling, and softball.
Worked at Columbia Lighting, American Sign and Ecolite for many years.
