Jeanette Guerrette Albert, 80, passed away January 6 at Forest Hill Manor Nursing Home in Fort Kent, Maine, after an extended illness. She was born December 20, 1937 in Guerette, Maine, the daughter of Alexander and Martha Chaloux Guerette. After losing her Mother at a very young age, she was raised mainly by her Father (and older siblings) from whom she gained her love of GOD, Country, and nature.

She truly enjoyed fishing, hunting, & canoeing and everything the outdoors had to offer. Gifted with a 'green thumb', many local folks would come from miles around to buy fresh vegetables out of the garden. Jeanette loved taking family trips to the beach & was an avid reader too.

Jeanette worked for years at Bev's Country Kitchen restaurant in Sinclair, Maine. After passing the Civil Service Exam, she was hired by the United States Post Office as a clerk for the Sinclair Post Office and eventually became Postmaster, retiring after 26 years of exemplary service.

She belonged to Saint Euthrope Parish in Guerette, Maine & Saint Joseph's Parish in Sinclair, Maine and she was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an extremely generous, kind, & loving woman, a tireless worker, and admired & well-respected by all who knew her.

Jeanette is survived by her children, Charlene Farnham of Windham, Maine; Paul Albert of Hughesville, Maryland; Lise Albert of Cross Lake, Maine; Louise Albert of Presque Isle, Maine; her grandchildren, Sean Kilpatrick of Old Town, Maine; Lucas McGill of Orono, Maine; Alexis Albert White of Roanoke, Virginia; Erika Albert of Hughesville, Maryland; her sister, Lucille Ouellette of Apopka, Florida; her brother, John Guerette of Orlando, Florida; and many beloved nieces & nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents, her brothers Leon & Frank Guerette, and son Alexander Kit Guerette.

A memorial service and interment is planned for Spring 2018. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association.
