AMORY - Katheryn Austin "Kitty" Wells, 82, died March 22, 2007, at her residence. Services were Saturday at 11 a.m. at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with the Revs. Dr. Allen Simpson and Jimmy McFatter officiating. Graveside services were at 4 p.m. Saturday at East View Cemetery in Union City, Tenn., with the Rev. Jerry Massey officiating. Mrs. Wells was born Jan. 24, 1925, in McNairy County, Tenn., to the late Louis Harvey and Eula Mae McAlpin Austin. She was a homemaker. She lived in Memphis, Tenn., Vicksburg, New Orleans, Fort Smith, Ark., and Union City, Tenn., before moving to Amory in 1966. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Amory and the Hatley Road Flower Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Reed Wells; daughter, Kathy Diane Wells; brothers, T.M., "Doc", Theron and Ralph Austin; and sister, Gracie Marie Tanner. She is survived by her 2 sons, 3 daughters; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Gene Curle, Mark Wells, Alan and Kevin Stump, Scott Walker and Roy Taylor. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 540, Amory, MS 38821.
