Dr. Dorothy M. Yeager, 82, of Zanesville, at 8:10 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2006. The Lord Jesus Christ took Dorothy's hand and led her to her celestial mansion which He promised to prepare for her. Dorothy M. McCombie Yeager was born in Johnstown, PA. On January 13,1924, to Walter and Mary McCombie. She is survived her husband, Dr. Walter G. Yeager, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church at 4100 Boggs Road. She graduated from Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital with her Registered Nurse degree; University of Pittsburgh and Calvary Institute of Biblical Studies. Dorothy's achievements at Calvary Baptist Church from 1960-2006 consisted of : she was organist and pianist for 46 years, she accompanied all the vocal soloist, duets, trios and quartets that sang at the church, taught over 400 students to play the piano and organ, led and accompanied all the musicians who sang in ten full length cantatas performed at the church, wrote two full length original plays. one for Easter and one for Christmas. Each play was performed in full costume, five cameras, quadraphonic sound equipment, the black light was used to obtain breathtaking scenes such as the resurrection of Christ in total darkness, conducted a Bible Circus under a tent seating 2200 people which was filled at each service. 650 people trusted the Lord Jesus Christ at these services. Dorothy was the organist on "Harmony Times" Radio Broadcast over WHIZ radio for 46 years, was the pianist for "Story Time" presented over WHIZ radio, published one book for her original poems, led Awana Youth Program with over 400 students each week, led King's Kids Program specializing in youth Bible memory work, was the secretary for the bus ministry operating16 busses bringing in children to Calvary, organized the "Jolly 60's program for senior citizens meeting once a week for five hours including lunch. Surviving in addition to her husband, four sisters; Carolyn(Will)Stiles of Homer City, PA, Shirley(Bruce)Berkey of State College, PA., Ruth Allison of Winonya Lake, IN. and Peggy Flores of Johnstown, PA; two brothers, Walter(Nancy)McCombie and George(Kathy)McCombie both of Johnstown, PA.
