The celebration of her life will be held today, Dec. 22, at 6 p.m. at Whigham Funeral Home, 580 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Newark, N.J. Visitation will commence at 4 p.m. Final disposition will be on Saturday, Dec. 24, at 10 a.m. at Glendale Mausoleum in Bloomfield, N.J. Sally was the daughter of the late John Sr. and Mozelle Cottle Wilburn; stepdaughter of Aleen Wilburn; beloved mother of Kenneth Wilburn (Gladys), and Terry Whigham (Carolyn); sister of Easter Hightower, Christine Newton, Sharolyn Wilburn, Alyce Grant (her twin), Annie Ruth Nelson, Lucille Wilburn, David (Linda) Wilburn, Willie Wilburn, and Darlene Wilburn; grandmother of four; great-grandmother of nine, and is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Jesse Alexander; her brother, John Wilburn Jr., and grandson, Chad Fort.
