Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship has confirmed that the body of 50 year old David Wayne Kay has been found. Chief Blankenship says Kay was found at a location on DeKalb County Road 851 in the Collinsville area at around 1:00 Friday afternoon.
A concerned citizen saw the vehicle on Thursday and recognized it from the BOLO that was given, that's when he notified authorities. DeKalb County deputies responded to the area and found Kay deceased on a ridge near his truck.
Collinsville Fire & Rescue and the DeKalb County Coroner's Office were also called to the scene. Kay was pronounced dead by DeKalb County Coroner Tom Wilson.
Chief Blankenship said that at this time foul play is not suspected.
Kay had gone to the Centre ER on Wednesday morning (December 20th) after feeling sick, and was apparently on his way back home afterwards. He was last seen at the red light on the Centre Bypass headed in the direction of Leesburg at approximately 11:00am '96 moments later at 11:15 '96 he was seen on Leesburg Police Department Cameras on Highway 68 traveling toward Sand Rock.
