Stephen Prior Kizzia was wounded in the Battle of Shiloh April 6 1862 and sent to the hospital in Mississippi. Presumably he died there ~ exact date is not known.

The Confederates lost the Battle of Shiloh (fought on April 6-7, 1862) and had to retreat to Corinth. During the Civil War a hospital was located at Okolona, Mississippli. Many of the wounded from the battles of Shiloh, Corinth and Brice's Cross Roads were sent there. Those who died were buried in the Confederate Cemetery, hundreds of whom remain unknown.
