JoAnn K. Baer, 83, of 11303 Alexander Ave., Pinewood Acres, Mount Union, went to be with the Lord Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon.
Born Feb. 6, 1934, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late Lantz and Clara (Benner) Harry. She was united in marriage to Nelson Baer Aug. 15, 1953, at the McVeytown Methodist Church parsonage, by the Rev. Frank Crawford. Mr. Baer survives at their home.
Mrs. Baer is survived by her children, Karen Goodman and husband, Timothy, of Mount Union, and Deborah Wertz and husband, Stanley, Pamela Houp and husband, Mark, and Kimberly Miller and fiancé, Jesse Sunderland, all of Huntingdon; a son-inlaw, Bill Morgan of McVeytown; grandchildren, Crystal Cramer, Heather Himes, Amanda Treweek, Ethan, Gracie and Lantz Miller and Bradley and Bethany Houp; and great-grandchildren, Gregory and Macy Cramer and Tianna and Daniel Treweek.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Trina Morgan; and a brother, Lantz Hoffman.
Mrs. Baer was a member of the Allenport United Methodist Church.
She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mount Union Chapter.
Mrs. Baer was a 1952 graduate of Captain Jack High School.
During her life, she was primarily a homemaker, but had also worked earlier in her adult life at the former Lantz Harry’s Restaurant in Mount Union and as a notary public.
Mrs. Baer loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Julie Piper officiating and son-in-law, Tim Goodman, assisting. Interment will be made in the Mount Union Cemetery.
