Edward J. Walzer, 71, died Thursday, April 23rd. Edward was born, Dec. 23, 1943, to Helen & Julius Walzer in San Francisco; the city where he grew up and to which he was ever since devoted.
Ed graduated from the San Rafael Military Academy in 1962 and received a BA from the University of San Francisco in 1966. During his university years, he made his first trip to Spain; beginning a life long interest in travel which he shared with his family. In 1987, he was married to his loving wife, Bonnie Thoma in San Jose.
Ed was a life-long educator for Cupertino schools, giving 45 years of service as a special education instructor at Homestead and Cupertino high schools. It was his delight to work with those that required special attention, and it was his unique personality that made him so capable of giving it.
Nothing gave Ed more joy than sharing in the life of his four children: Mark and David Walzer, Gina and Matt Cerruti and his beloved granddaughter, Bellina. He is also survived by his aunt Dorothy Rosenthal and cousin Judy.
A memorial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 1522 McCoy Ave, San Jose.
