Jack Robert BOYD Born in Seattle November 17, 1923 of Mildred Mary (Svoboda) and John A Boyd, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 6, 2010. He graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1942. After serving in the Army Air Corps Pacific Theater, member of 330th Bomber Group, he returned to the University of Washington to graduate with a degree in Economics and teaching credentials in 1948. He married Pauline (Polly) Anderson on April 1st, 1949, who preceded him in death after 44 years of marriage. He taught High School in Aberdeen and Leavenworth, where he was the ski team coach, before returning to Seattle where he taught at Denny Jr. High for nearly 30 years. He started working as a seating host at the Kingdome from it's opening in 1976 to its closing in 2000 and then crossed the street to continue his retirement career at Safeco Field until the 2010 season. His family was very important to him and always enjoyed spending time with them at his summer cabin at Seabeck. He is survived by 2 daughters, Karen (Mark) Baughman and April Boyd, 2 grandchildren, Adam and Nathan Baughman, and dozens of devoted relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to The Kenney Home or First Lutheran Church of West Seattle. A celebration of Jack's life will be Saturday, April 17 at 11:00 am at First Lutheran Church 4105 California Avenue Southwest. Please feel free to sign his guest book at www.howden-kennedy.com.
