Early Life: Kay was born December 4, 1941, in Rock Springs, Wyoming, to Kenneth Archie Baum and Melva Dora Peterson Baum.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: Kay and her husband, Robert C. Sorensen, spent 52 years building their life together and raising a family. Children include: Teri (Bret) Davis, Todd (Lainie) Sorensen, Dana (Rick) Coates and Keni (Jarrod) Butler. She also has 16 grandchildren and a growing number of great grandchildren. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kay and Robert were later sealed in the Provo Utah LDS Temple. Kay was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. She had a career for over 50 years as a beautician, making those around her feel loved and beautiful. Those lucky enough to know her, know that she will be remembered for her contagious laugh, beautiful flower garden and her fierce love for her family. She enjoyed spending time on her porch swing and being surrounded by the ones she loved. She was strong, beautiful and a force to be reckoned with. Melva Kay Baum Sorensen passed away November, 25, 2017. She was 75.
