American trumpeter. He began playing at age nine. His early professional experience was with the territory bands that toured the midwest. Later he played in more famous dance bands including Benny Goodman's orchestra; during that time he also recorded with Gene Krupa in Chicago. He may be seen with Goodman in the film The Big Broadcast of 1937, but quit the band during filming in Hollywood, and it is not he who appears in a widely circulated photograph from that time, wearing Kazebier's band uniform and holding a trumpet, but Goodman's brother Gene (who was not a trumpeter at all). Kazebier then worked with Jimmy Dorsey's band. After serving with the Armed Forces Radio Service in World War II, he returned to Goodman's band. From the late 1940's into the 1960's he did studio work in California. Near the end of his life he performed with orchestras in the Lake Tahoe/Reno area.
