Nancy Jean Solomon Maurer age 76, of Winchester, went to be with her Lord on July 31, 2016. She was born on August 19, 1939 in the Harmony Community. She was a retired teacher from the Franklin County School System. Nancy trusted Jesus as her savior and we who believe will see that smile on her face again. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Maxine Woodard Solomon; and sister, Charlotte Anne Gipson. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Eddie A. Maurer; five children, Kenneth Eddie (Debbie) Maurer of Lovettsville, VA, Susan Faye Beech and Wanda Kaye Gipson of Tullahoma, TN, Christopher Solomon (Ranny) Maurer of Huntsville, AL and Katherine Anne Sculthorpe of Shalimar, FL; sister, Faye (Claude) Hatchett of Villanow, GA; eleven grandchildren, Stephanie, Emily, Nicholas, Amanda, Bradley, Grace, Jack, David, Sophie, Maxine and Anna; five great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Jett, Melina, Taylor, Lilly and two great-grandchildren on the way. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 4-5pm at Bethel United Methodist Church, with a celebration of life service following at 5pm with Pastor Ken Ervin.
