Nancy Carlton Burchard, 91, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, died Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Sunnyside Retirement Community.
Nancy was born in Raleigh, North Carolina October 23, 1926, the daughter of the late Herbert and Kathleen Wooten Carlton.
She graduated from Needham Broughton High School, class of 1944 and later from Salem College in 1948.
She married Preston Burchard in 1949.
Nancy was a member of Wakemans Grove Church of the Brethren and worked as a librarian in Fairfax County and at Massanutten Military Academy.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Duffy Regan of Sydney, Australia; three sons, Edwin Burchard and Robert Burchard both of Columbia, Missouri, and Jonathan Burchard of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service officiated by Chaplain William Lowrance will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Meredith Chapel, Sunnyside Retirement Community, Harrisonburg, Virginia.
