We are not certain mom's uncle Mike is buried here or his year of death; it's a 19 min. drive from Rawdon though mom says he lived most his life in Montreal with his wife Dolly. He built a log cabin home on Lac Clair (Lk Clear), a short drive from Rawdon, along with a log 2 car garage! He eventually deeded the cabin to niece Beryl & her husband Bill George. Mike was a big gin drinker, Beefeater, I know sister Gert liked that too. Dad said he packed two suitcases for his annual winter trip down to his trailer in S Daytona Beach FL: one for clothes, the other with two opposing rows of gin. He drove a 60s Olds 98, and fast. One time mom and dad were riding with him returning to the log cabin/cottage, he barreled down the drive, took a sharp turn and they thought he was surely going to hit the back wall of the garage, but stopped within inches. That was Mike! Later her drove a mid/late 70s AMC 4 dr wagon. I remember at least one family trip to his cottage, mom said he made us buckwheat pancakes on his potbelly stove. I also remember him taking my brother George out fishing in his boat in Daytona and was gone for hours, George wanting to come home. When they finally did, George was sunburned terribly, his face and lips blistered and swelled up. Mom gave Mike hell, but Mike always did what he wanted.
